The 4G T Belt Drive Engine Kit

This 4 stroke motorized bicycle engine kit comes with everything you need to convert most V-frame bicycle to a 49cc gas powered scooter. Simply clamp on the engine, install the sprocket, gas tank, and other hardware and you'll be up a running in a couple of hours. Installation requires some tools and a moderate mechanical apptitude.

High quality 4 stroke Hua Sheng engine gets you 150mpg with top speeds of about 35 MPH (pretty fast on a bicycle). These things are built to last and require virtually no maintenance.

With the built in clutch you maintain full function of the original bike. Pedal and ride your bike like normal. When you want to engage the engine simply give the engine gas and go. To power off simply press the included kill switch.

This kit is legal in almost all states. Most laws stipulate that any motorized vehicle under 50cc is legal to operate without a license, registration, or insurance. You can find a kit with a larger engine, but you will be required to have a drivers license and you must license, register, and insure your scooter. Don't bother with the hassle--get the biggest engine available that doesn't require license, registration, and insurance!

I got this kit in April and installed it without a hitch. I have been riding for over a month now and enjoying every minute of it. Put 600 miles on it so far and the only problem I've had is a snapped clutch bell. This is the only weak point in this system that I've seen so far. Luckily I had a spare clutch bell of the same dimensions that a bit beefier than the stock set-up...still riding strong! Now if only Bicycle-Engines.com would get some more rear gas tank/rack set-ups in stock...then I would order another kit to replace my 2-stroke set-up...simple as that! And update their Bike Gallery!!! Yes again I say...UPDATE your Bike Gallery! Cheers, Scotto-

The 3 piece crank set they sent with mine worked fine, but I do not seem to get as good a gas mileage with the belt drive (120 mpg as opposed to 150-170 mpg). Also the protective cover for the belt drive does not fasten securely, the screws vibrate out and leave the belt drive cover loose, unless you bring tools and extra screws. Otherwise the belt-drive is quieter with less mess.

this system is very wide. that crank arms that come with the kit are about 2 inches to narrow. the left crank arm hits the drive assembly.
