Huasheng 142F and 142F-1G Assembly Guide

Below you will find some useful information including tips and recommendations to help you keep your bike in top shape.

Engine Oil

The manufacturer of the Hua Sheng F142 49cc 4-Stroke engine recommends a high detergent, premium quality motor oil certified to meet or exceed U. S. automobile manufacture's requirement for service classification SG. SF.

SAE-30 is recommended for general, all temperature use.

Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause serious engine damage. Be sure to check the engine on a level surface with the engine stopped.

It is recommended you change the engine oil once every 10 hours of ride time. This can vary slightly depending on the amount of continuous use.

Gear Box Oil

Our gear boxes are shipped out to the customer without oil or grease inside. The manufacturer states that they will work without it. However, running the gear box dry of oil can cause unnecessary wear and impact eventually leading to various component failures. This is easily remedied by using some form of lubrication. We recommend using a 50/50 mixture of Lucas Gear Oil (85w-140) and Stop Leak to lubricate the internal gears and help prolong the life of your gear box.

First combine equal amounts of Lucas Gear Oil and Stop Leak into a small container that you can pour small amounts from such as a soda bottle.

Once you have your mixture ready, pour about 3-4 ounces into the hole on top of the gear box where the engager lever extends. (See the picture above.) The stop leak bottle shows where to add.

You may notice some leakage from the gear box as the gasket wasn't designed for wet use. When necessary, to eliminate that you can use a waterproof form-a-gasket or even some silicone.

The clutch will slip a little at first, but after a short time it will burn off any excess and should be smooth and chatter free. You can add more when the clutch starts to chatter again.
